Drought conditions in Sri Lanka worsening: FAO

　With drought conditions in Sri Lanka worsening and the cumulative rainfall by mid - July falling some 30 to 50 per cent below normal in most areas, the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation has warned that the next couple of months will be critical for the main crop season in the Indian Ocean island.

　スリランカでの干ばつの状況が悪化し、７月中旬までの総雨量はほとんどの地域で平年のおよそ３０％から５０％で、国連食糧農業機構(FAO)は、インド洋上の島では今後数ヶ月主要な収穫の時期を迎え厳しいものになるだろうと警告している。
